Our goal is simple yet powerful: to promote and protect human rights in Africa and around the world and to impact the continent of Africa through our projects. We work tirelessly to stand up for those whose voices are silenced, and we fight against systemic injustices that threaten basic human dignity. Human rights goes beyond the basic understanding: every human has the right to have clean drinking water, education, access to healthcare and the minimum needs to survive and have a dignified life. This is where I Am Human comes into play because we believe that the beauty of humanity is not in being human but in being humane.

Because everyone matters.
Around the world, people face injustice simply because of who they are or where they live. They are denied to live in humane circumstances, suffer from discrimination or battle every day against powerful systems that don’t favour them. These violations happen every day, often with no accountability or justice. The case of Shalimar Abbiusi, the founder of I Am Human who faced mistreatment, was detained unlawfully for speaking up for the people of Ghana and re-arrested after the court discharged her, is just one example of how people’s rights can be abused without proper oversight.
But together, we can change this.
